HR Works is continually seeking experienced HR professionals who thrive in a consultative, client-focused environment. As an HR Consultant with HR Works, you will serve as a trusted advisor to client organizations leveraging your HR expertise to deliver thoughtful guidance, practical solutions, and measurable impact, while maintaining a strong work/life balance.
Position Summary
The HR Consultant partners with clients to assess, design, and implement effective human resources strategies that align with organizational goals. In this role, consultants provide hands-on guidance and support across the employee lifecycle, offering both strategic insight and operational expertise in areas that may include:
  • Advising on payroll processes and ensuring accurate, compliant biweekly payroll execution
  • Guiding clients through new hire onboarding and employee transitions to support engagement and compliance
  • Consulting on benefits administration, vendor coordination, and employee communications
  • Reviewing and reconciling HR-related invoices and identifying process efficiencies
  • Providing employee relations guidance, coaching, and issue resolution support
  • Supporting HR compliance initiatives, including policy development and employee handbook maintenance
  • Leading or contributing to special projects, audits, and HR process improvements

This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse client environments, develop meaningful partnerships, and deliver HR solutions that are both strategic and practical.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$33.00-$38.00/hourThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Current knowledge of state and federal employment laws, with experience applying and interpreting regulations in real-world scenarios
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to assess situations and make thoughtful, compliant recommendations
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities in a client-driven environment
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a readiness to step in and contribute where needed
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems
  • Availability during typical business hours, Monday through Friday
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or related certifications preferred (e.g., CEBS, CCP)
Experience and Education:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Manager experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; or an Associate degree with commensurate experience
