POSITION: HR Manager, Canada
LOCATION: Milton, ON (hybrid - 3 days onsite)
MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a North American manufacturer and they are on the hunt for an experienced HR Manager to assume a standalone HR position for the Canadian operations. This role serves as a strategic HR partner to business leaders while acting as the subject matter expert on Canadian employment legislation, compliance, employee relations, and HR governance - the compliance skillset will be a priority.
Please note: this will start as a 12 month maternity contract with potential to become perm based on strong performance. 
The ideal candidate brings strong 5+ years of senior HR experience, a deep understanding of federal and provincial employment laws, and the ability to build scalable HR processes that support business growth, minimize risk, and enhance the employee experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following areas:

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree is mandatory - in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset.
  • 5-10+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, workforce planning, and organizational change.
  • Proven ability to develop HR policies, compliance frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Experience partnering with Payroll, HRIS, Legal, and senior leadership teams.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Compensation:
  • Annual base salary (110-125K based on experience)
