We are seeking an intern for our Human Resources team. This will be a hybrid opportunity out of the Waltham, MA office. 
Job Summary 

The HR Engagement & Communications Intern will play a hands-on role in supporting programs that strengthen employee engagement and ensure clear, effective communication across the organization. This role combines employee programs, internal communications, and employer branding with opportunities to support process improvements and explore new tools that enhance how HR operates. 
From planning engagement initiatives and recognition programs to maintaining intranet content and supporting recruitment marketing efforts, this internship offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that helps employees and candidates feel informed, connected, and engaged. 
We’re looking for someone who is organized, creative, a strong writer, and curious about how new tools and technologies, including AI, can improve communication and efficiency within HR. 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support HR Engagement initiatives that strengthen employee connection, communication, and company culture 

  • Assist with the planning and execution of employee programs, events, and recognition activities 

  • Draft, edit, and optimize internal communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and engagement across the organization

  • Maintain and update content on the company intranet to ensure information is clear, current, and accessible 

  • Support employer branding efforts through content development, storytelling, and recruitment marketing initiatives

  • Partner with Recruiting to update and maintain content across employer branding channels, including Glassdoor, Comparably, and Built In

  • Assist with tracking and reporting on engagement metrics, participation, and employee feedback

  • Partner with HR and cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Recruiting, to support employee experience initiatives 

  • Bring creativity, curiosity, and fresh ideas to improve programs, communications, and overall employee engagement

  • Research, test, and apply practical uses of AI to support HR communications, content creation, and workflow efficiency

  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal AI resources, such as prompt libraries, examples, and simple how-to guides, to support team adoption

Required Qualifications 
  • Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field 

  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills required 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required 

  • Experience using AI tools required, including ChatGPT and similar platforms for writing, research, brainstorming, and productivity support 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and balance multiple priorities 

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment 

  • Creative thinker who is comfortable bringing forward ideas and contributing to new initiatives  Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams Interest in HR engagement, internal communications, employer branding, and culture-building initiatives

This position offers an hourly range of $22.00 to $24.00. This range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
