Job description

Pratt Industries - a sustainable packaging company - is looking for an HR Generalist ready to work closely with the HR manager to support the HR initiatives for Wapakoneta Corrugator.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handle HR-related duties for the Wapakoneta Corrugator
  • Work closely with HR manager to identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies
  • Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, FMLA, vacation, paid leaves.
  • Assist HR manager in investigating employee relations issues, including hotline reports, with a focus on timely resolution.
  • Maintain and administer any records or personnel files as required by state and federal laws for all employees, including I-9s.
  • Process biweekly payroll with payroll analyst support and guidance
  • Run monthly reports such as OT, vacation accrual
  • Balance multiple commitments in fast paced environment
  • Participate in daily/weekly meetings
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience within the field of Human Resources, payroll, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Technical Skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations
  • Preferred Candidates will have experience with ADP and other HRIS's.

Physical Demands
  • Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, sit and stand.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be, at times, loud.
