Purpose

Business Human Resources (BHR) serves as a trusted partner to the business, helping to shape our culture, supporting our business strategies, and delivering the talent and capabilities necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients around the world. The role leverages best-in-class HR practices to continuously create, deliver and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice while empowering all employees at all levels of the organization. The role partners with business leaders in an assigned function to develop and implement people strategies and tactics that support the business plans and the achievement of both short-term and long-term strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic partner to the business. Assist in creating and implementing HR Strategies to meet organizational and business needs.
  • Coach, consult, and influence the business leaders, regarding leadership development, succession planning, and talent management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, develop and retain talent that meets current and future business needs. This includes identifying and cultivating new capabilities required for future success. Lead talent development and succession planning efforts.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of all HR programs and service, and be responsible for HR results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, and associated financial results.
  • Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with key HR partners from all Centers of Excellence and Service Centers to ensure HR elements are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; include relationship management, leadership, HR roles & responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
  • Provides consultation on organization design and effectiveness / structure issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Drive people manager development to create clarity and consistency of expectations, accountability, and enriched manager/employee experiences. Partner with people leaders to shape a culture of high employee engagement, high performance, diversity and inclusion.
  • Facilitate, implement, and model change. Develop and deliver effective communication strategies that align with organizational priorities and support business objectives.
  • Champion AbbVie Ways We Work with Business by modeling, educating, and coaching on these behaviors.
  • Prioritize critical projects based on business needs and available resources
Qualifications

​​​​​​Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business; strong business acumen
  • Experience with utilizing competency model and assessment tools such as 360 assessment tool and Thomas PPA talent tool to conduct manager talent assessment and deliver reports to detail potential motivators and areas of improvement to support talent development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in a complex and demanding environment
  • Project management or business experience
