Position Details

The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Tampa invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2026.

Program Description:

This is a one-year teaching position that may have some service requirements. Teaching responsibilities will be in the two-semester sequence of human anatomy and physiology courses. Members of the faculty are expected to create engaging, inclusive learning environments that challenge students to reach their potential.

Teaching: The successful candidate will have potential for excellence in teaching, a critical area for our teaching-centered, primarily undergraduate institution. Applicants should be eager to create engaging, inclusive learning environments for our diverse student body that emphasize shared learning objectives across a range of subject areas within the health sciences. Each candidate will be expected to teach 27 contact hours per academic year.

Qualifications

Applicants with an earned Doctorate by August 2026 are preferred, but applicants with an earned Master's Degree in a Health Sciences and Human Performance-related discipline will be considered.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated expertise in human anatomy and physiology. Prior in-person teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence at the university level is required. Preferential consideration will be given to those with experience in teaching in-person anatomy and physiology for nursing and health sciences.

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
