About the Role
As an Affordable Housing Recertification / Compliance Specialist, you will ensure your community meets all HUD, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and affordable housing compliance regulations while supporting residents through the leasing and certification process.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in property management compliance. You'll work closely with residents, property managers, and compliance teams to maintain accurate documentation and deliver a strong resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
As an Affordable Housing Recertification / Compliance Specialist, you will:
  • Process applications, recertifications, lease agreements, and renewals in compliance with HUD and LIHTC guidelines
  • Guide residents and applicants through the affordable housing qualification and leasing process
  • Maintain accurate files and complete compliance reporting and documentation
  • Ensure adherence to HUD Section 8 and Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations
  • Support rent processing, security deposits, and financial tracking
  • Partner with property management to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance

Qualifications
To be successful as an Affordable Housing Recertification / Compliance Specialist, you should have:
  • 2+ years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing (100+ units)
  • Experience with HUD Section 8 and/or LIHTC compliance (preferred)
  • Strong data entry and administrative accuracy
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Tax Credit certifications (COS, TCS) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Flexibility to support occasional evenings or weekends
