Job description

About Wolf Games

Wolf Games is building the platform for generative entertainment universes living, ever-expanding worlds where creators, players, and AI collaborate in real time. Our first universe, Public Eye, turns everyone into a detective. Across a suite of crime-solving games, players collect evidence, crack cases, and rise through the ranks of a connected detective program. We're creating a future where game development and player experience are tightly connected through intelligent systems that learn, adapt, and surprise.

About the role

Note: We are specifically looking for candidates with playable ads and mobile HTML5 game experience. If you haven't worked on playable ads or browser-based game experiences, this role is not a fit.

We're looking for a QA Engineer with deep experience testing HTML5 playable ads and mobile web games someone who understands the unique constraints, quirks, and performance challenges of ad environments.

This role is focused on ensuring our games perform flawlessly across mobile browsers, ad networks, and device types, with a strong emphasis on usability, performance, and polish in short-form gameplay experiences.

You'll work closely with engineering and creative teams to validate builds, catch issues early, and ensure every playable experience is smooth, responsive, and engaging.

You will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with engineering and creative leadership to:

  • Test and validate HTML5 playable ads across major ad networks (e.g. Meta, Google, Unity, TikTok).
  • Ensure builds meet strict ad platform requirements (file size limits, load time, clickthrough behavior, sandbox constraints).
  • Identify and document issues related to: Touch interactions and responsiveness; UI scaling and layout across devices; Performance (FPS drops, memory usage, load times); Rendering bugs in Canvas/WebGL environments
  • Run cross-device and cross-browser testing (iOS Safari, Android Chrome, etc.).
  • Validate gameplay loops within short-session, high-conversion environments.
  • Collaborate with developers using Pixi.js, Phaser, Three.js, or custom WebGL frameworks.
  • Write clear, actionable bug reports and help prioritize issues based on player impact.
  • Support rapid iteration cycles testing frequent builds and quick turnarounds.
  • Contribute to lightweight automation where helpful, but primarily focused on high-quality manual QA for interactive experiences.
What you'll bring
  • Strong experience with HTML5 playable ads (this is the most important requirement).
  • Proven experience testing mobile browser-based games or interactive ad units.
  • Familiarity with ad platform constraints and specs (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.).
  • Experience with game frameworks like Pixi.js, Phaser, Three.js, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of: Mobile browser limitations (memory, performance, touch input), and device fragmentation / responsive design
  • Strong attention to detail and a high bar for polish and user experience.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues that impact engagement and conversion.
  • Clear communication and strong bug-reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with frequent builds.
Nice to have
  • Experience building or debugging playable ads directly.
  • Familiarity with lightweight automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
  • Understanding of analytics or performance metrics for playable ads.
  • Background in game design or strong intuition for player experience.
Why Wolf Games

We are a small, creative, and collaborative team that values curiosity, craftsmanship, and experimentation. We believe small wins lead to big wins and that the right QA systems, built by the right engineer, can let a small team ship at startup speed with AAA quality. If you're excited to industrialize quality assurance through AI while defending the fun, we'd love to hear from you.
