Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: HSE Coordinator will work under the direction of the HSE Region Manager to ensure that OSES facilities comply with all safety, health, environmental, quality management systems requirements, and company- wide policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Abide by all Oil States Energy Services Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of all aspects of the QHS&E/DOT Management System.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of applicable customer, federal, state and local HS&E/DOT regulations or requirements to assist in compliance.
  • Support OPS deployment and maintenance of the QHS&E/DOT Management System for all locations or areas as assigned.
  • Advise and assist OPS management regarding changes in applicable federal, state, local occupational health and safety regulations to assure compliance.
  • Provide assistance with investigation of incidents to prevent future occurrences as required, ensure timely investigation and timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Develop and conduct HS&E/DOT training regarding employees including timely completion of written documentation.
  • Lead or participate in regular HS&E/DOT audits and inspections at field and shop locations as scheduled including monitoring corrective action to closure as identified.
  • Review and respond to local analyses of HS&E statistics and trends in your assigned area of support.
  • Participate in industry Health & Safety professional group(s) and maintain a current knowledge of industry HS&E direction and standards (agency & client).
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense, exercise discretion, and independent judgment within pre-determined OSES HSE policies.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have knowledge of common best training and safety practices for the oil and gas industry.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the Oil/Gas field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must possess solid working knowledge of all tools and equipment utilized by the company.
  • Must be able to drive over state lines up to 70% of the time, depending on district location.
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours as necessary.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, and with minimum supervision be able to multi-task utilizing effective time management to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills to foster effective and consistent working relationship with co-workers, managers, and external customers.
  • Must be team oriented and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-and post-employment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess intermediate computer skills utilizing various programs in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as various training software; must possess the ability to learn company or industry specific applications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent HS&E experience.
  • HS&E Certification preferred.
  • Three (3) plus years' experience in oilfield work or related field.
  • Minimum Five (5) years' HS&E experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record as required by company policy.
  • Must read, write and speak English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires exposure to moderate noise levels, as well as warm, hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where safety glasses, steel toe boots and ear plugs are required to be worn at all times.
  • Must have good manual dexterity to perform daily tasks, operate computers and other standard office or Warehouse equipment.
