FORVIA is looking for a year-round HSE Intern for its location in Saline, Michigan. Your mission, roles and responsibilities The following is an overview of roles and responsibilities associated with the Health, Safety and Environment Intern: Conduct Risk Assessments for all equipment / tasks, includes identification of the risk to human health or life, the likelihood of occurrence, current control measures in place, and additional control measures needed. PPE - Personal Protective Equipment Conduct periodic comprehensive HSE audits at Faurecia locations, including: Saline, MI; Develop and / or revise HSE Start Up work instructions Conduct plant audit on each work station to confirm an HSE work instruction exists or needs revised Create or revise to ensure all work station have HSE start-up instruction 100% plant wide through plant document control system Observe station to station plant wide to ensure operators have the correct level of protection for the task they are performing; ie: gloves, safety glasses, proper attire, etc.

Observe station to station plant wide to identify any hazards that may create a slip, trip or fall Review equipment to identify anything unsafe Machine guarding Maintain Environmental logs and records regarding materials and waste Conduct environmental & safety training Assist with plant and state injury reporting and incident investigations and claims reporting Develop revised Lockout Tagout Placards Working in conjunction with maintenance personnel to identify all lockout points and the proper method of lockout to be used for all equipment Document in work instruction format and process through document control system lockout tagout placard for each piece of equipment Development of lockout tags for specific hazards for machine locations in connection to the lockout tagout placard Audit and update MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) files and chemical inventory log Conduct plant wide chemical inventory audit Ensure a Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are on file for each chemical in-house Obtain any missing MSDS for processing Assist in incident investigation. HSE data entry and filing as needed Assist Senior Health, Safety, and Environment Manager in any additional needs. Additional tasks as assigned by the company.
