Aerospace Aluminum Processing (ASAP) is a growing aerospace manufacturing company specializing in high-quality aluminum processing for commercial and military aerospace customers. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting/Human Resources Coordinator to join our team.
The Accounting & Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end/year-end close activities. The position supports overall financial
operations and assists with maintaining accurate and reliable financial information.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting
• Manage accounting system using Quick Books
• Assure that proper internal controls are in place and adhered to
• Perform month-end and year end closings and create related financial reports
• Maintain the GL and related sub-accounts including A/R and A/P
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll, oversee check distribution and related tax reports
• Create invoices and ensure that customer balances are paid on time
• Make timely payments to vendors in compliance with their terms
• Maintain control of and accuracy of all bank accounts including timely deposits,
month end reconciliations and account balances that tie to the G/L
• Distribute mail
• Maintain filing systems
• Assist in maintaining 5S Standards in the office
• Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance
Human Resources
• Administer day-to-day HR functions and ensure compliance with company policies
and employment practices.
• Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR-related questions
and concerns.
• Manage the recruitment process, including posting positions, interviewing
candidates, conducting background checks, and onboarding new employees.
• Maintain accurate employee records, electronic personnel files, HR workflows, and
reporting.
• Support HRIS implementation, system maintenance, and technology
improvements.
• Coordinate payroll and timekeeping activities, including reviewing employee
records, processing payroll changes, tracking attendance, and calculating
employee bonuses.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and related reporting.
• Coordinate performance reviews, employee engagement, and recognition
programs.
• Partner with Corporate HR to support benefits administration, employee status
changes, and policy implementation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with
exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR best practices, and
employee relations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems; experience with BambooHR
preferred.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support,
performance management, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and policy
administration.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish preferred.
Education and/or Experience
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in a full-charge accounting or bookkeeping role
• 1-3 years of hands-on HR experience supporting employee relations, recruitment,
onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and HR compliance
preferred.
Computer skills
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience using QuickBooks
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
• Experience with BambooHR or other HRIS platforms, including employee records,
workflows, reporting, and electronic personnel files.
• Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems.
Other Requirements
Ability to communicate by email, compose documents, enter database information, create
presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.
