Job description

Kāhala Nui, considered Hawaiʻi’s premier senior living community, is looking for a detailed-oriented and employee focused full-time HR Coordinator to join our team.
This position is 100% on-site. Remote or hybrid remote work is not available. Schedule is Monday - Fridays.
ABOUT THIS ROLE: The HR Coordinator plays a critical part in supporting the day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance across multiple HR functions of the associate lifecycle,
including, but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and engagement. The HR Coordinator works closely with associates and managers to ensure consistent application of policies, promote a positive work environment and support Kahala Nui’s organizational goals. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and pre-employment screenings.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems (HRIS).
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs.
  • Assist with employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Support HR projects and special initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 years’ experience in HR related fields.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to communicate effectively with associates, leadership, residents and vendors. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs, including the ability to navigate through Outlook, Word, Excel, and standard HRIS programs.
  • Ability to speak in front of large audiences.
  • Reliable transportation to events (i.e. job fairs).
  • Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
  • Availability to work varied schedules including evening, weekends and holidays as job permits.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources
  • 3+ years’ experience in HR
  • Experience implementing and maintaining HRIS/Payroll systems
