Field Service Controls Technician
Location: West Chester, OH
Pay: $32-$36/hr+
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of experience in field service, quality control, or technical support with PLC exposure
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic, HMI databases, electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and O&M manuals
  • Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI systems, including basic programming and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including VFDs, chillers, boilers, and BAS integrations
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% (including overnight travel)
  • Effective communication skills for working with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve field issues independently

Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-startup activities including system checks, component testing, and PLC/HMI I/O validation
  • Lead equipment startup and commissioning at customer sites, ensuring proper system operation, sequencing, and communication between components
  • Identify, document, and help resolve system issues, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed
  • Make minor PLC and HMI program adjustments to support system functionality and performance
  • Train customer personnel on system operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Complete detailed service reports, upload project documentation, and support project closeout activities
  • Assist with in-house quality control, final assembly testing, and provide remote technical support to customers as needed
