Job description

Our Milwaukee client is seeking a motivated and professional Human Resources Generalist to support recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, employee relations, and employee engagement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working directly with employees, managing multiple priorities, and helping create a positive workplace culture. This is a full-time, direct hire position that offers the opportunity to work remotely two days a week after the initial six months. A flexible M-F daytime work schedule and work/life balance is offered along with a strong compensation and benefits package. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, personable, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting both employees and company leadership.


Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:

- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard employees while supporting overall staffing needs

- Administer employee benefits and employee assistance programs

- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations

- Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, compliance documentation, and government reporting data

- Provide guidance to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits while escalating complex issues as needed

- Process bi-weekly payroll and related payroll reporting

- Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, company meetings, and special events

- Conduct exit interviews and prepare separation documentation for departing employees

- Update job descriptions and perform HR file audits

- Support HR compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations


Requirements for Human Resources Generalist:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Associate degree with equivalent experience

- 2+ years of Human Resources experience. Manufacturing industry experience a plus

- Previous payroll processing experience strongly preferred

- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding employees

- Knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, and HR best practices

- Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. HRIS and payroll software experience preferred

- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
