Job description

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor 

Department: Housekeeping 

Supervisor: Executive Housekeeper, Director of Housekeeping, and/or Housekeeping Manager 

Summary 

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel by overseeing daily housekeeping operations. This position supports the Housekeeping Manager by supervising staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and maintaining efficient workflows. The supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms and public areas, training team members, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in planning and coordinating housekeeping operations. 
  • Supervise and support housekeeping staff to ensure timely and thorough cleaning. 
  • Inspect guest rooms, hallways, and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance. 
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback. 
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and linens; place orders as needed. 
  • Ensure adherence to hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards. 
  • Respond to guest requests and resolve issues promptly and professionally. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations. 
  • When business demands require it, will be expected to also service rooms. 
  • Ensure all lost and found items are logged and stored securely.  

 Supervisory Responsibilities  

Oversee, guide, and train all housekeeping employees and report any achievements and/or deficiencies to the Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Director of Housekeeping, or GM. No discipline or direct management responsibilities. 

Qualifications  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience  

Minimum of 6 months' similar or related experience and/or training in a hotel / resort environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Previous supervisory experience preferred.
