Hourly Vons Grocery Store Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Assistant Grocery Manager supports the Grocery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Grocery Department. This position helps ensure exceptional customer service, maintains merchandising standards, supports inventory management, and assists with leading and developing department associates.

• Provide prompt, friendly, and professional customer service.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns in a timely manner.
• Promote a positive shopping experience and maintain a customer-focused culture.

• Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department.
• Ensure shelves are stocked, faced, and properly merchandised.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
• Execute promotional displays, sales plans, and seasonal merchandising programs.

• Assist with inventory control procedures and ordering processes.
• Monitor out-of-stock conditions and take corrective action.
• Help minimize shrink through proper handling, rotation, and loss prevention practices.
• Ensure compliance with product rotation and date code policies.

• Support hiring, training, coaching, and development of department associates.
• Provide direction and assign daily tasks to team members.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
• Assist in evaluating associate performance and providing feedback.

• Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information.
