Java developer

Location: Downingtown, PA -Near Philly

Duration: 6+ Months

Need GC and USC

Java Developer-----Needs Video Streaming or Video Transcoding experience

Top Three Skills:

1. 7+ years of development experience in Java and or C++

2. 7+ years' experience developing in Javascript particularly NodeJS

3. 1-2 years' experience with Video Streaming or Video Transcoding (Similar technologies include: VLC, Live555, Wowza, H.234, WebM, Kodak)

Job Description:

Project: This team is responsible for developing the automated scripts and frameworks for Set Top Boxes and CPE devices for Customers. They partner with the NCO (National Care Organization) within Comcast which is responsible for the call centers overseas.

This particular project is partnering with NCO and the Call Center Agents for training purposes. This team tests the training modules for the Agents overseas (Singapore and India). Currently there is no audio for the training modules. They need to re-write the scripts for training to provide audio. This is where the Video transcoding technologies come into play.

Additional Information:

(2) Software Developers are needed to develop a middleware tier for CATS that allows for streaming of video content to Chrome or Firefox browsers with the source being an h.264/AAC encoded RTSP stream.

7+ years in software development:

Languages:

o C/C++ - strong

o Java - strong

o Python - strong

o JavaScript (NodeJS) - strong

1-2 years minimum experience with:

o Video Streaming and transcoding using ffmpeg, VLC or live555 etc.

o HTML5 based video streaming

o Video streaming protocols: RTSP, DASH, HLS, ...

o Video codecs e.g. h.264, VP8, VP9

o Audio codecs e.g. AAC, MP3

o IP networking related to video streaming

o REST services

Good communication skills
