Job Summary:
Light is focused on creating a sustainable and abundant energy future through their utility-as-API platform. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and architect their innovative product, contributing to both technical leadership and company culture.
Responsibilities:
• Build a first-of-a-kind product from the ground up.
• Architect and implement the foundations of our platform, from our core developer API and embedded UI components to grid-facing systems like load forecasting and behind-the-meter control.
• Help define our culture, making Light a place people come not just for the mission, but work alongside others they admire and enjoy.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering impactful solutions.
• A high degree of product ownership, driven by objectives and outcomes, not just tasks.
• Experience building robust and elegant solutions to complex problems with an understanding of what it takes to be a technical leader on significant projects.
• Attention to detail and ability to execute autonomously.
• Versatility in working across the stack and adaptability to evolving product needs.
• The ability to relocate to Austin, TX to work in-person with the founders and rest of the engineering team.
