Job Description Position Summary Base-2 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications, focusing on user interface validation, accessibility compliance, and cross-browser compatibility testing. The role involves developing comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades including Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c database integrations, and SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces. Strong experience with UI automation frameworks, manual testing methodologies, and defect tracking systems is essential. The candidate will validate that all system components meet federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG) while ensuring a seamless user experience across the modernized platform. Experience testing enterprise applications in Windows Server environments, API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for automated test execution is highly valued. This role requires excellent analytical skills, meticulous documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate with developers, business analysts, and security teams in a regulated environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades and new features. * Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications. * Conduct user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility testing. * Execute manual testing methodologies for complex scenarios. * Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements. * Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG). * Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments. * Verify security controls and data protection measures. * Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing. * Perform API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services). * Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines. * Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution. * Test Apache Tomcat application server deployments and configurations. * Test Oracle 19c database integrations and data flows. * Test SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces and outputs.
