Job Title: Electrophysiology Registered Nurse

Description:
An electrophysiology registered nurse performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions in a clinical setting.
Your duties and responsibilities include preparing the patient for the procedure.
You will ensure that all equipment and instrumentation are in working order.
Monitoring the read-out or recording during the procedure is also essential.
You will assist with the lab analysis and interpretation of the data and communicate any issues to the physician or specialist.
Assisting physicians with pacing implementation and installing permanent devices related to cardiac health is part of the role.
You must coordinate with the charge nurse and third-party vendors to ensure all team members are available for scheduled procedures.
The registered nurse will assist in the sterile field, prepping the patient and equipment for studies and ablations as the circulator.
You will maintain fluids for the ablation catheter and provide assistance with the ablator.
The primary focus will be on the patient as you assist anesthesia, document during studies and ablations, and provide backup pacing during implants.
Documentation will be performed using the electronic health record system.
Experience with cardiac implant or structural heart scrub is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with specific mapping and device systems is also preferred.
Typical procedures include RF and cryo ablations, various atrial and AV node ablations, and device implants such as traditional pacemakers and ICDs.
Knowledge of laser applications and low-risk procedures is beneficial.
