Packaging Clerk

 FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

PAY RANGE: $15.69 - $16.16 per hour

Position Summary 

The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is an engineering and custom cable manufacturing company. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, FEC is AS9100D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified and provides custom cable design and assembly to defense and aerospace customers. Our major customers include leading defense contractors such as Raytheon, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and The United States Government.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

Experience

  • No prior experience required
  • Previous warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing experience is a plus but not necessary

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and packaging procedures
  • Willingness to learn company packaging and shipping processes

Skills

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Attention to detail when packaging and labeling products
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Ability to accurately count and verify items
  • Strong work ethic and reliability

Job Responsibilities

  • Package finished products according to company packaging standards
  • Place products into appropriate boxes, containers
  • Label and prepare packages for shipment
  • Assemble boxes, packaging materials, and shipping containers as needed
  • Count and verify items before packaging to ensure order accuracy
  • Organize and stage completed packages for shipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized packaging work area
  • Replenish packaging materials such as boxes, tape, labels, and protective materials
  • Assist production teams by packaging completed jobs as needed
  • Follow company safety procedures and packaging guidelines
  • Report damaged or missing items to a supervisor
  • Assist with general warehouse or production tasks when required
  • Work with team members to ensure orders are packaged accurately and on time

Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
