Operations Quality has an opening for a Factory Quality Engineer who will interface with the factory teams supporting production, first article inspections, creating/maintaining work/inspection instructions, and preparation for audits. The position is based in Camden, AR and requires onsite presence. The quality engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following in the next section.
What You Will Do
  • Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
  • Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics
  • Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure
  • Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
  • Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management
  • Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
  • Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Navy Technical Representatives
  • Daily status meetings with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issue
  • Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack (Out of Flow) dispositions

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process and engineering principles
  • Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date (U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
  • Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Six Sigma or ASQ Certification
  • Data analysis; development and usage of actionable metrics

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
