Purpose of Position:


Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking Seasonal General Production Workers. Del Monte Foods in Plover, Wisconsin is hiring Seasonal General Production Workers – Grade 2 to support our annual pack season operations. Employees in these positions may support production equipment operation, cookroom processes, sanitation, material flow, maintenance support, waste handling, warehouse coordination, quality checks, and other operational support functions throughout the facility. Positions may require overtime, weekends, flexible schedules, and extended shifts during peak production periods.

Schedules may include day or night shift assignments, overtime, weekends, and shifts up to 12 hours per day during peak production periods. Seasonal employment typically begins in June and may continue through October with opportunities for extended work through late November/early December based on operational needs and employee performance.


Accountabilities:


  • Seasonal General Production Worker – Grade 2 employees perform semi-skilled production, operational, sanitation, inspection, cookroom, mechanical support, material handling, and process support activities in a food manufacturing environment. Employees may operate equipment, monitor production processes, complete required documentation, support product flow, perform sanitation activities, assist with minor maintenance activities, and support production efficiency and food safety initiatives throughout the facility.


Employees may be assigned to various operational areas based on business needs, training, qualifications, and production demands.


Seasonal work areas may include, Cookroom operations, Retort operations, Tagging and cookroom, Capper operations, Flow control and receiving, Waste pit operations, Grounds and sanitation support, Janitorial services, Scalehouse operations, Slicer or snipper maintenance support, Plant greasing and lubrication, Product sampling and quality support.


Key Responsibilities for General Production Grade 2 Roles

Employees may perform duties in one or more operational areas, including:

  • Operate or assist with production and processing equipment
  • Monitor product flow, quality, and equipment performance
  • Complete required production, cookroom, quality, or operational documentation
  • Inspect product and packaging for defects or contamination
  • Assist with sanitation, cleanup, and waste handling operations
  • Perform minor equipment adjustments, greasing, lubrication, or mechanical support activities
  • Support material movement and operational flow throughout the facility
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Communicate operational concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to leadership
  • Follow GMP, food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements
  • Assist with cross-functional operational support as assigned


Training

  • On-the-job training is provided for all assigned work areas. Employees may be cross trained in multiple operational functions based on business needs.


Seasonal Incentives

To support employees during our peak pack season, Del Monte Foods offers select incentives for eligible seasonal workers. These incentives are designed to assist with temporary relocation and seasonal work demands and may include:

  • Housing assistance or housing incentives
  • Transportation allowance
  • Sanitation Bonus (for eligible employees)


These incentives are available only during the active pack season (typically June through early October) and are subject to eligibility requirements, availability, and business needs. Incentives may be modified or discontinued at any time based on operational conditions.


Minimum Skills Required:

  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards during extended shifts
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, crew leaders, and co-workers
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, humidity, wet conditions, noise, and moving equipment
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules during peak production periods
  • Ability to comply with all food safety, GMP, quality, and workplace safety requirements
  • Ability to safely work around conveyors, forklifts, production machinery, hot surfaces, and processing equipment
  • Reliable attendance and dependability throughout the seasonal production period.
  • Comply with required PPE
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, food processing, agricultural, or industrial experience
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced or team-based environment
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience working with tools or machinery
  • Forklift certification or material handling experience
  • Experience with production documentation or quality checks
  • Basic computer or data entry experience for applicable positions.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus but not required.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, military service, agricultural work, manufacturing experience, warehouse experience, or related work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
