Position Overview GreenChem Industries is seeking a highly analytical and technology-minded Inventory & Accounting Analyst to help manage inventory accuracy, financial reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement across our network of third-party warehouse (3PL) locations. This role sits at the intersection of inventory, accounting, data analytics, and technology. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with large amounts of data, investigating discrepancies, and finding smarter ways to accomplish repetitive tasks. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience using AI tools, automation, advanced Excel, ERP systems, or other technologies to analyze data, automate reporting, identify discrepancies, and improve accounting or inventory processes. The right person won't simply reconcile reports — they will look at how the process works and ask, “How can we make this faster, smarter, and more accurate?” This position works closely with Accounting, Procurement, Logistics, Customer Service, and our 3PL warehouse partners and offers significant opportunity to grow as GreenChem continues expanding its operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile inventory reports from multiple third-party warehouses against ERP inventory and investigate discrepancies
  • Analyze inventory transactions to identify receiving, shipping, costing, and data-entry issues
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation, reconciliation, and variance reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting close, including inventory-related journal entries, reserves, and obsolescence
  • Analyze standard costs and investigate cost variances associated with inventory receipts
  • Work with Accounts Payable to research inventory, freight, warehouse, and invoice discrepancies
  • Monitor damaged, aged, slow-moving, and non-sellable inventory
  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and support internal and external audit requests
  • Develop reports and dashboards that provide greater visibility into inventory performance and key metrics
  • Use AI, automation, and data-analysis tools to improve inventory reconciliation, identify anomalies, streamline reporting, and reduce repetitive manual work
  • Identify opportunities to automate existing inventory and accounting processes
  • Partner with Supply Chain to support inventory planning, replenishment, and order fulfillment
  • Investigate and help resolve mis-shipments, receiving errors, inventory discrepancies, and other operational issues
  • Help develop scalable inventory-control processes as GreenChem continues to grow
  • Support compliance with company procedures and Responsible Distribution (RD) standards
  • Perform item receipts and apply standard costing
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience working with inventory, accounting, financial analysis, supply chain data, or ERP systems
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with large datasets
  • Strong analytical mindset with an ability to investigate discrepancies and determine root causes
  • High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger operational picture
  • Comfortable learning and adopting new technology
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Someone who naturally looks for opportunities to improve processes rather than simply following existing ones
Technology & AI Experience — Highly Preferred We are particularly interested in candidates who have used technology to make accounting, inventory, or analytical work more efficient. Experience with any of the following is a strong plus:
  • AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar business AI platforms
  • Using AI to analyze spreadsheets, identify anomalies, summarize data, or assist with reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, formulas, and data analysis
  • Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, or similar automation/reporting tools
  • ERP systems, particularly NetSuite
  • Building automated reports, workflows, dashboards, or reconciliation processes
  • Using technology to reduce repetitive manual accounting or inventory tasks
You do not need to be a programmer. We are looking for someone who is curious about technology, understands data, and enjoys finding better ways to work. Why GreenChem? GreenChem Industries is a growing global chemical distributor operating across North America and international markets. As our business continues to expand, so does the complexity of our inventory and supply chain. This role provides the opportunity to work with real operational and financial data, collaborate across multiple areas of the business, introduce new technology and automation, and have a direct impact on how we operate. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, working with numbers, experimenting with new technology, and turning messy data into clear answers, we'd like to hear from you.
