These jobs can be full-time or part-time and may be in-office or remote, depending on the employer. Hourly insurance roles are common in customer service, administrative support, and entry-level underwriting or claims processing. In most hourly insurance roles, you may work with various insurance lines such as auto, home, renters, or small business policies, depending on the employer. Your responsibilities could include assisting clients with quotes, processing renewals, updating policy information, and answering questions about coverage. The range of products you handle can help you build diverse industry experience and open pathways to specialized or salaried roles in the future. If you have a particular area of interest, be sure to ask during your interview about the types of insurance the agency or company primarily services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the hourly insurance position, and why are they important?
