Responsibilities and Duties

WHO/WHAT: Every great performance starts with the right cast. This family's story began backstage in a high school theater production, where they spent time as  friends before life finally gave them the perfect second act. Today, their favorite role by far is being parents to their sweet baby girl. Between sleepy smiles, growing wake windows, and discovering the world one milestone at a time, they're looking for someone ready to step into a starring role—not as the main character, but as a trusted teammate helping this family flourish behind the scenes.

Your days will revolve around caring for their little one with warmth, intention, and just the right amount of silliness. You'll follow her schedule, cheer on her newest accomplishments, chat through diaper changes, read stacks of books, venture out on neighborhood walks, and, as trust is built, enjoy outings around Pittsburgh. This family believes babies thrive when they're given both lots of love and thoughtful structure. That means honoring wake windows, encouraging healthy sleep habits, and sometimes giving her a moment to settle herself before swooping in. They're looking for someone who enjoys working with parents—not simply doing things the way they've always been done.

When she's napping, you'll help keep the household humming by washing bottles, tackling baby laundry, vacuuming or sweeping, tidying the day's little messes, and helping with simple dinner prep. You genuinely enjoy creating calm from chaos and know that folding tiny sleepers or resetting the kitchen isn't "extra"—it's part of caring well for the whole family. The family has two two loveable Labs, but because Dad primarily works from home, pet care will be limited to occasionally letting them outside.

Their home thrives on routines, organization, and thoughtful planning. They laugh often, love hosting family and friends, spend summer afternoons swimming at the grandparents' pool, and are still discovering all the adventures that come with parenting. They hope to grow their family over the coming years and they're searching for someone who hopes to grow right alongside them—not just for a season, but for the next five to ten years.

THE IDEAL NANNY IS…equal parts playful and organized. You're the type of person who can sing songs one minute and remember to rotate the bottle sterilizer the next. You know children need both connection and consistency, and you're confident enough to lovingly hold boundaries while never losing your sense of fun. Structure doesn't feel restrictive to you—it creates freedom for children to thrive.

People often describe you as proactive because you notice what needs to happen before someone asks. You naturally switch over the baby laundry before heading home, wipe down the high-touch surfaces, refill the diaper caddy, and leave the house feeling just a little lighter than when you arrived. Homemaking comes naturally to you, not because someone hands you a checklist, but because you genuinely enjoy helping a family feel cared for.

You're communicative, dependable, and wonderfully teachable. You don't take feedback personally—you appreciate working with parents who know what they value, and you enjoy partnering with them to raise confident, kind, emotionally healthy children. You understand that consistency between parents and nanny creates security for children, and you're excited to become an extension of their parenting rather than your own separate program. Perhaps most importantly, you're looking for somewhere to put down roots. This family isn't searching for someone to simply help with a baby. They're hoping to find the person she runs to after preschool, the one who cheers from the sidelines of soccer games, helps with homework years from now, celebrates new siblings as they arrive, and becomes woven into the story of their family.

If you're looking for a role where structure is valued, laughter is plentiful, and the curtain is just rising on what this family hopes will be a decades-long story... we'd love to introduce you.
