Position Summary:
The Hourly Data Analyst is a critical role responsible for executing high-impact research and analytical tasks across two distinct academic fields: educational technology and engineering. This position involves independent research, including the development and testing of a student performance monitoring application, applying necessary IRB protocols for educational data analysis, and utilizing data modeling algorithms to interpret complex additive manufacturing experiment data. The Analyst reports to a graduate student and the faculty advisor, operating within Dr. Miri's research group, and plays a central part in driving data-driven insights and scholarly output.
Essential Functions:
-Conduct independent research to develop an app, test the app, and apply for an IRB protocol to monitor student performance.
-The applicant reports to a graduate student and the faculty advisor.
-Using data modeling algorithms to analyze additive manufacturing experiment data.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Working toward BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $20.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
