Job description

We are a leader in our industry and a recession proof business seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to help plan and supervise commercial construction projects from start to finish; ensuring they are completed in a timely and efficient manner and on budget. The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for multiple tasks including: reviewing job scopes and estimates, scheduling sub contractors, ordering materials, onsite management, and job administration. This position reports directly to a Sr. Commercial Large Loss Project Manager or Construction Manager and will often times collaborate with other team members in our Sales, Mitigation, Construction, and Operations Divisions. A Commercial Construction Project Manager communicates with many different stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure the successful execution and achievement of company objectives and goals, while promoting a positive attitude with other employees, vendors/sub-contractors, adjusters, consultants, and commercial project stakeholders at all levels.
Must possess a minimum of 2 years of proven and successful construction project management experience as well as be proficient in details, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Attention to detail, paperwork and exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) are also vital to the role. The position will involve being on the jobsite(s) as well as working in the office as needed with other office and operations personnel assuring that all open projects are kept on schedule and on budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Commercial Construction Project Management: minimum 2 years (Required)
  • Strong understanding of quality building standards (Required)
  • Superb customer service track record (Required)
  • Effective written and oral communication (Required)
  • Intermediate math skills (Required)
  • Ability to read and understand pre-determined scope of work (Required)
  • Understanding of local building codes and ability to read and follow blue prints (Required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Driver's License amp; clean driving record (Required)
  • Must be able to pass background checks and drug test (Required)
  • Experience in water/fire restoration a plus
  • Basic understanding of common estimating software or willingness to learn
  • Bilingual a plus
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Client Satisfaction
a. Be responsible for customer service and management of the customer experience.
b. Compile and resolve punch list items.
c. Perform final walk-through with client.
d. Secure a signed Certificate of Completion and Certificate of Satisfaction from client.
e. Manage all warranty activities
2. Project Initiation
a. Evaluate and assist with up-selling projects as needed or required.
b. Helping Educate customers on construction process and expectations.
3. Project Planning
a. Identify and document project scope of work.
b. Create and review estimates.
c. Review budgets.
d. Ensure proper permits are acquired
4. Project Execution
a. Create project schedule and timeline.
b. Identify and qualify subcontractors and resource providers.
c. Negotiate terms and set expectations.
d. Plan, organize, and manage crews and subcontractors.
e. Schedule all subcontractors and material suppliers.
f. Ensure all work performed complies with the plans, specifications, local codes, and requirements of the scope of work.
