Job Title: Accounting Manager   

Supervisor: Assistant General Manager and General Manager 

Summary 

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial activities at the individual hotel property, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and fiscal responsibility. This role acts as the financial steward of the property, working closely with the General Manager and department heads to support operational efficiency and profitability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and daily bank deposits 
  • Assists in tracking and managing hotel inventories 
  • Prepares and analyzes month-end closing reports and packets prior to submitting to corporate 
  • Manage and audit all onsite cash on hand 
  • Audit and process travel agent commissions and finalize group billing, ensuring timely payments 
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards 
  • Collaborate with department managers to review financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities 
  • Provide training and guidance on financial procedures and systems 

Supervisory Responsibilities  

This role is responsible for overseeing any hourly Accounting staff at the property level, and also requires frequent interaction with hotel leadership, staff, and external vendors.

Education and/or Experience  

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 

3+ years of accounting experience in hospitality or property-level finance 

Strong understanding of hotel operations and financial systems (e.g., PMS, POS, accounting software) 

Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills
