GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is an in-office position (non remote).


The Grocery Advertising Specialist is responsible for executing weekly advertising, promotional planning, and loyalty marketing initiatives for an assigned grocery format/s. This role plays a critical part in driving store traffic, promotional effectiveness, and customer engagement through highly accurate, well-coordinated advertising execution.

This position works cross-functionally with merchandising, pricing, operations, and marketing leadership to ensure weekly ads, digital circulars, and loyalty offers are strategically aligned, competitively positioned, and accurately delivered.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Weekly Ad & Promotional Execution

Coordinate and execute weekly grocery advertising (print,digital,audio).

Ensure promotional accuracy including pricing, offer mechanics, and legal compliance.

Collaborate with category managers to confirm item selection, margin alignment, and promotional strategy.

Coordinate and execute weekly point-of-purchase (POP) materials to ensure in-store promotional alignment and visibility.

Manage ad timelines to meet production and distribution deadlines.

Assist in competitive pricing analysis to strengthen value positioning.


Promotional Planning Support

Support seasonal and event-based promotional calendar planning.

Assist in aligning promotions with merchandising and operational initiatives.

Monitor promotional performance and identify optimization opportunities.

Provide post-event reporting and analysis.


Loyalty & Customer Engagement Planning

Assist in planning and execution of loyalty promotions and targeted offers.

Support CRM initiatives including offer setup and campaign coordination.

Monitor loyalty program performance and engagement metrics.

Ensure alignment between weekly ad features and loyalty incentives.


Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Maintain promotional calendars and tracking documents.

Support budget tracking for assigned advertising initiatives.

Work closely with creative, digital, and merchandising teams.

Provide reporting insights to Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing leadership.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related field preferred.

2-4 years marketing or advertising experience required.

Retail or grocery experience strongly preferred.

Experience working with promotional calendars or pricing strategy a plus.

Familiarity with loyalty programs or CRM platforms preferred.


Knowledge/Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

Strong project coordination and organizational skills.

Basic financial understanding of margin and promotional lift.

Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
