Whatโ€™s the Role

As Director of Finance, you are the strategic and operational financial leader for a full-service hotel and conference center, responsible for overseeing all hotel financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across rooms, food & beverage, and events. You partner closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team to drive profitability, optimize revenue, and ensure strong financial performance across the property.

This role goes beyond accounting oversight. You will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with department heads to translate financial insights into operational action. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, audits, payroll, internal controls, capital planning, and long-term financial strategy โ€” ensuring the organization is positioned for sustained performance and growth.

Rate:$130,000 - $180,000/year based on experience

What Youโ€™ll Do to Be Successful 1) Financial Strategy & Business Leadership
  • Develop and execute the organizationโ€™s financial strategy aligned with Q Centerโ€™s long-term business plan
  • Establish measurable financial metrics to evaluate efficiency, profitability, and operational effectiveness
  • Partner with department leaders to align financial goals with operational objectives
  • Provide strategic financial critiques and actionable recommendations to leadership
  • Drive profitability through cost controls, revenue optimization, and process improvements
  • Lead financial input for capital projects, systems upgrades, and major operational initiatives
2) Financial Operations & Reporting Excellence
  • Oversee all financial operations including payroll, cash flow, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead monthly and annual financial closings with accuracy and timeliness
  • Direct preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and capital plans
  • Develop and manage property-wide operating budgets, annual budgets, and five-year operating and capital plans
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, receivables, payables, and funding requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including tax obligations, payroll withholdings, and hotel-related taxes
  • Maintain and audit internal controls including purchasing, payroll, inventory, asset management, and cash handling
  • Oversee regulatory licenses, permits, contracts, leases, and insurance renewals
  • Co-lead the annual renewal of Property, Casualty, and FinPro insurance programs
  • Safeguard owner and investor assets through prudent financial governance
4) Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead and develop the Finance department, setting clear expectations and performance standards
  • Conduct performance reviews and mentor department managers
  • Drive cross-departmental collaboration to improve workflow and operational efficiency
  • Influence executive leadership through strong financial insight and communication
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
What You Bring

We're seeking a strategic finance executive who combines technical expertise with business partnership and operational leadership.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive financial leadership within a full-service hotel, resort, or comparable hospitality environment
  • Prior Director-level experience required
  • Proven success in budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and achieving financial performance targets
  • Deep knowledge of hospitality financial regulations and tax compliance
Technical & Leadership Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across all organizational levels
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
