Job description

The Henlopen Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. The Technician will complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotel standard operating procedures and continually work towards the support of guest service, other departments and fellow staff. This individual will exude a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Role and Responsibilities

- Inspect hotel regularly to ensure hotel rooms, lobby, and facilities are maintained as well as meeting required safety standards.

- Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses, hoses, and belts.

- Responds to guest room calls for maintenance related issues in both a professional manner and maintaining confidentiality of hotel guests.

- Perform maintenance activities in the guest rooms and hotel public areas like unclogging drains and toilets, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, ceiling tiles, air conditioners/PTAC units, and drywall painting & repair.

- Responsible for the exterior cleaning of the building such as parking garage, storage areas, and public areas.

- Maintains organization of the maintenance shop and shop related inventory duties.

- Paints guest rooms, interior and exterior walls, trim, and stairwells.

- Performs other general maintenance related duties as assigned by management.
