To see our fill list of Team Member Benefits please visit our career site: www.gotoworkhappy.com/benefits **POSITION SUMMARY:**The Manager โ€“ Purchasing is responsible for managing all activities pertaining to the purchasing of goods and services for all operations of the property.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:***(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)** Manage the purchasing process including the buying, selling and distributions aspects of the company.* Review new project proposals for the company.* Communicate with the marketing team to effect working strategies.* Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance.* Implement improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.* Handle contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers.* Identify ideal suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.* Reviews department requisitions, bids out requisitions where appropriate, determines types of procurement and vendor to be utilized.* Must be able to communicate organizational policies, procedures, and philosophies to associates to create a strong working relationship.* Responsible for ensuring that adequate inventory and product is available to meet the companyโ€™s needs.* Prepares instruction/procedure manuals as required to assist department with all new systems and policies.* Prepares detailed reports regarding all aspects of the procurement process as required.* Must establish strong professional working relationships with suppliers.* Develop and manage partnerships with vendors.* Evaluates and analyzes purchasing trends and price trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs.* Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.* Adheres to all Virginia Lottery Regulations and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.**NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*** Attend seminars when needed.**EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:***(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)*Minimum four yearsโ€™ experience in purchasing.
