Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Directly supervise Front Desk staff.
  • Assist with recruiting, selecting and training Front Desk employees.
  • Provide assistance and advice to Front Desk staff as appropriate.
  • Report disciplinary issues to Hotel Operations Manager.
  • Administer staff schedules and work assignments.
  • Perform duties of other Front Desk staff as necessary.
  • Tactfully respond to guest complaints or problems.
  • Assist Hotel Operations Manager with rate assignment and adjusting system for special promotions and packages.
  • Ensure AM/PM shift logs are completed as applicable.
  • Close/balance accounts.
  • Detail group billing prior to sending.
  • Balance direct billing accounts.
  • Keep Accounts Receivable up to date.
  • Oversee advance deposits and direct billing.
  • Ensure all bookings are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Create front office files, create master account, put in rooming list and take individual group reservations for group blocks.
  • Close out and release unused group rooms, keeping staff up to date on all changes.
  • Ensure current and prospective databases are maintained, that files are kept current and that times reported are presented to Hotel Operations Manager.
  • Handle incoming phone calls for Dacotah Ridge.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with golf course, casino and other departments.
  • Reference check to ensure billing is accurate.
  • Enforce all company and department policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working at a hotel front desk.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of Front Desk policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of golf packaging and tee reservations.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and inventory control.

  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
