Job description

The Vice President, Hotel Operations is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the fleet by following company's established ratings and financial key performance indicators (KPI's). The Vice President, Hotel Operations is also responsible for the implementation and execution of Company's Charter agreements. The position works closely with the Director of Culinary Operations, Director Hotel Operations Support, Manager of Procurement & Logistics, and Vice President of Finance to manage the onboard hotel product offering. This position provides day-to-day management direction, coaching and support to all Hotel Directors to ensure efficient execution of charter's service agreements. All Hotel Directors report to this position.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure operational performance is maintained in accordance with charter client contract specifications
  • Develop, update, interpret and ensure compliance with AE Leisure policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain consistency in shipboard operations
  • Ensure hotel operations compliance and benchmark with ISO 9001:2008
  • Ensure that adherence to MLC 2006 is maintained
  • Talent development and succession planning
  • Manages, leads and coaches all shipboard Hotel Directors
  • Direct responsible for housekeeping department, F&B department, reception area and OBR revenue
  • Develop and implement programs and procedures, assuring compliance with USPH standards. Establish training programs and internal inspection procedures
  • Coordinate with Manager of Purchasing and Logistics to ensure all specifications for food beverages and consumables are continuously updated
  • Audits the execution of charter contracts at the beginning of the season for adherence to the terms
  • Responsible for the start-up and close-down of every season
  • Brings to the attention of the President & CEO, any unresolved operational matters that require upper management involvement and decisions
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the President & CEO. Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in the cruise/hospitality industry
  • Prior multi-site/multi-cruise ship experience in the hospitality/cruise industry is highly preferred
  • Customer (passenger) service skills; must be able to deal personally and professionally with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prioritization skills, task completion and follow-though required with multiple projects concurrently
  • Management, leadership and team building skills required
  • Flexibility and adaptability; must be able to work weekends, holiday, and extended/evening hours if necessary to the operations
  • Needs to be available and flexible to travel on a worldwide basis
  • Ability to lead teams in dynamic environment with a positive and productive manner by inspiring and developing individuals and effectively managing processes
  • Intermediate computer software skills required
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent (Preferred), or "on the job" progressive experience
