Job description


Hotel Equities, one of the top hotel development and management companies in the industry, is currently seeking an engaged, authentic, and results-driven Area Sales Manager to support the growth across the Eastern United States with Postcard Cabins, Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy. This position is home-office based and requires approximately 50% travel to properties within the assigned region.


Your expertise shapes us:

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for proactively generating new business, maintaining existing client relationships, and executing strategic sales initiatives that increase group and transient demand. This position requires frequent travel throughout the region and active participation in prospecting, networking, industry events, site visits, and client engagement activities. Travel is expected to be approximately 50% of the time. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned revenue goals.
  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across assigned market segments.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, partners, and referral sources in order to produce group business.
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and organizations.
  • Conduct site inspections, familiarization (FAM) tours, and client visits throughout the region.
  • Coordinate and participate in sales events, networking receptions, and other promotional activities.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, educating clients and partners on the Postcard Cabins experience and value proposition.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect information within company CRM systems.
  • Negotiate contracts and follow through on all sales-related activities from inquiry through booking.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Leadership teams to support business objectives.
  • Meet/exceed assigned goals

 You Are:

  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships, and is passionate about creating unique outdoor hospitality experiences.
  • An experienced Area Sales Manager with 3+ years of hotel, hospitality, destination, or related sales experience is required.
  • Experience with multi-property, regional sales, outdoor hospitality, or group sales experience preferred.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
  • Team player, professional, and lead with integrity
  • Available to meet guests which may include weekends
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Engaged, authentic, and prepared to prospect, sell, and maintain accounts to positively impact revenues for a "best in class" hotel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales tracking systems.
  • Preferably located in the Eastern Region of the United States.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable spending significant time at outdoor properties, attending events, conducting site tours, and engaging with guests and partners in outdoor environments.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be stablished from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
  • Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities. Associates who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
