Overview
Are you ready to help shape the future Portland's riverfront hospitality landscape? CoralTree is seeking a Managing Director to join our team at RiverPlace Hotel located in Portland, OR. As the Managing Director, you will oversee all aspects of the hotel's operation and additional luxury assets from a functioning winery to a new build of luxury guest suites. You will lead the collection's executive committee, drive operational excellence and set the tone for an integrated hospitality experience that consistently delivers distinctive and memorable service. About the Property:
RiverPlace Hotel boasts 85 upscale guest rooms and suites. The hotel is a short walk from the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Downtown Portland. The hotel offers a quieter side of downtown Portland where waterfront paths, marina views, and city bridges all make up the experience of the hotel's overlook of the Willamette River. The waterfront King Tide Fish & Shell Restaurant offers a diverse menu specializing in fresh seafood and alfresco dining. Guest's favorites include the communal living room and urban landscape.
Responsibilities
  • Champion the property's operational excellence and financial performance, driving revenue growth and profitability in alignment with the annual business plan and commitment to deliver exceptional owner returns.
  • The Managing Director will oversee multiple owner assets along with the hotel, including a winery and luxury guest suites.
  • Lead the property's market positioning with bold, innovative strategies that showcase property's unique offerings, differentiating the property from competitors while strengthening its presence in local, regional, and national markets.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve precise forecasting projections; proactively adjust business strategies to protect profit integrity and optimize performance.
  • Deliver best-in-class guest and team member experiences, consistently exceeding service expectations while upholding CoralTree Hospitality's high standards of hospitality and genuine care.
  • Serve as the face of property within the community and the broader hospitality industry, fostering strategic partnerships and representing the property with professionalism and authenticity.
  • Ensure a safe and secure resort environment by implementing and upholding policies that prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of guests, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Inspire, attract, and retain top-tier talent, cultivating a high-performance culture that prioritizes career growth, continuous learning, and leadership development in line with CoralTree Hospitality's values.

  • Leverage deep financial acumen, including expertise in income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational transparency.

Qualifications
  • At least 15 years of hotel operations experience in an executive leadership role.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or similar, preferred.
  • Luxury Hotel Opening/Renovation Experience Preferred.
  • Experience with project management
  • Robust background in luxury hospitality
  • Proven Leadership of luxury F&B operations; including restaurants, bars, banquets & catering, and in-room dining.
  • Driving exceptional guest experiences alongside strong financial performance.
  • Experience with an independent group and resort destination property, required
  • Managing Director level experience in PNW market, preferred
  • Experience managing third party Food & Beverage operator, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with guests and team members
  • Strong financial acumen and computer skills
