Job Summary

Answers inquiries and obtain information for the general public, guest, employees, and other interested parties. Provides information regarding activities conducted at the Casino/Hotel. Makes, confirms, and cancels reservations for guests in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner so as to create a positive impression and increase hotel occupancy.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Maintains records of incoming calls, noting time of calls.
  2. Completes employee call-in form and forwards it to the Hotel Administrative Assistant if the employee is not in the Hotel, Spa, or Transportation departments.
  3. Keeps records of employee’s personal calls and forwards call to the Supervisor of that Department.
  4. Receives calls, determines nature of business and directs callers to destination.
  5. Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel information and casino activities.
  6. Communicates effectively with staff and other departments in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  7. Uses two-way radio system to communicate with Casino, Hotel, and Transportation departments.
  8. Uses pager system for guest pages throughout the casino.
  9. Makes, confirms, and cancels reservations usually over the telephone, fax, or other reservation system.
  10. Will safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  11. Complies with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  12. Monitors the casino environment and will follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  13. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  14. Reports to work on time and as required in uniform, displays a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance guidelines.
  15. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Supplemental Job Duties

  1. Operates PBX console and company reservation system.
  2. Attends all required meetings and training sessions as required.
  3. May fill in at the front desk.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Normal office environment along with extensive computer use. Requires occasional standing and significant speaking, both in person and via telephone. At times, requires significant use of eyes, hands, arms, fingers and wrists associated with data entry or switchboard use. Confidentiality is a must.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires high school diploma or GED. One (1) year office or related experience. Prior PBX/Hotel reservations experience preferred. Requires knowledge of office machines. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to work directly with the general public. Must be able to change easily and frequently from one activity to another such as from typing, to searching in a directory, to using a telephone. Requires good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. Uses personal judgment and specialized knowledge to give information to people. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to meet all internal non-supervisory, training and education requirements. Must have a pleasant voice and be able to display tact and diplomacy. Must possess good computer skills.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
