Job description

SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team in Pocomoke City, MD and have an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Machine Operator. In this role, the right candidate will assemble completed desiccators and pipette pumps from component parts, test the completed desiccators and pipette pumps, then pack them for shipment.

This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 4pm - 2:30am - Monday - Thursday (10 hour shifts)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Removes molded products from the molding machine and visually inspects, de-gates and trims parts when necessary.
  • May perform limited size inspection utilizing gages, micrometer calipers, or special fixtures. Bags parts and applies header cards or labels when required.
  • Performs post-molding operations such as the milling gates, drilling holes, inserting inserts, hand removal of mold components from parts, hot stamping, etc. at the molding machine and during the molding cycle.
  • Properly packs the finished or semi-finished parts into master cartons.
  • May also operate a regrinding machine, rework or inspect other molded parts and fill in on other machines as demand rises.
  • Maintains production statistics and prepares a report for the Lead Operator at the end of the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) are preferred. 
  • Basic math skills and computer literacy is preferred. 
  • One to three months related experience in a warehouse work setting is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Must demonstrate a solid work history and attendance record. 
  • Forklift operating experience is preferred. 

Payrate : $16-17/hr

  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
