Sommelier - Tavernetta Vail

Four Seasons Vail and James Beard Award winners Frasca Hospitality Group, led by Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, and Peter Hoglund, have collaborated to create Tavernetta Vail. Part of the Frasca Hospitality Group, home to the Michelin-starred Frasca Food and Wine, Tavernetta Denver is recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand and is known for its genuine hospitality and authentic Italian fare.

The group has expanded to include the Italian and European inspired eateries of Pizzeria Alberico and Sunday Vinyl and seek to continue this dedication to providing warm and gracious hospitality with the opening of Tavernetta Vail at the Four Seasons Resort by hiring enthusiastic, ambitious, and humble staff to uphold a culture of excellence, education, and respect.

About The Role:

This position is part of the Food & Beverage Team and focuses on providing an expertly served wine experience for guests during dinner service at Tavernetta Vail; anticipating the guests' needs as an expert on wine offerings and food pairing recommendations.

What You Will Do:

  • Craft an unforgettable dining experience by engaging with guests and demonstrating extensive knowledge of food, wine, spirits, mixed drinks, and menu item preparation methods.

  • Ability to advise the guest on their wine selection and to supervise the day-to-day wine service of the rest of the team.

  • Responsible for weekly and monthly wine inventories of the Tavernetta Vail dining outlet.

  • Assist servers with wine service and check backs with guests to assure their satisfaction.

  • Keep in contact with the wine storeroom to ensure availability and correctness of products (vintages, par levels, etc...).

  • Increase wine sales through team education training and upselling initiatives.

  • Communicate with other team members for support and accuracy of table service delivery.

What You Bring:

  • Two or more years of Sommelier experience in a fast-paced fine dining restaurant setting required. Vast knowledge of wine and food pairings is crucial.

  • Have passed your Certified Sommelier Examination or a higher-level certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers.

  • Must be a self-starter, possess a positive attitude, and be comfortable working alongside a team of Food & Beverage professionals.

  • This role has direct contact with guests and as such, good communication skills are a necessity.

  • Fluency in English is required for this location and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the in the United States. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 ibs.
