Administrative Operations | West Lafayette, Indiana
Purdue Conferences and Event Design (PCED) is seeking a Event Manager to join the team within the Purdue Memorial Union. PCED coordinates the scheduling and management of more than 200 spaces across the Purdue Memorial Union, Stewart Center, and outdoor campus venues.
In this role, you will serve as a primary contact for Purdue Memorial Union's entertainment and programming events and departmental event inquiries while partnering with campus and external stakeholders to plan and execute successful events. Responsibilities include overseeing event logistics, supporting event planning efforts within PMU and Stewart Center, and helping ensure a seamless experience for clients and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and skilled at managing multiple priorities while building strong relationships with a diverse group of partners. What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with college coursework in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within hospitality in events, entertainment programming, or event sales
  • Consideration will be given to a candidate with relevant experience, in lieu of a degree

Preferred:
  • Experience in contracting, budgeting, marketing, audio visual equipment, Social Tables software, and EMS Scheduling Software

Skills Required:
  • Required competencies for this position are work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision-making, and dependability
  • Additional required competencies may include sales, contracting, marketing, attention to detail in planning, and time management
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds, utilizing teamwork in daily work activity
