Join VHB's Raleigh NC Office as a Land Development Project Manager to help grow their expanding and innovative Land Development and Planning and Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our clients include mixed-use, biotech, residential, multifamily, affordable housing, industrial, and hospitality developers.

VHB's Land Development Team is seeking passionate professionals to join our team supporting impactful projects like the Birch and Branch Apartments in Southeast Raleigh-a 180-unit affordable housing development. Responsibilities

  • Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization
  • Oversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammates
  • Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Analyze complex technical challenges and develop new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions
  • Promote career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct team members.
  • Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for a multitude of projects

Skills and Attributes

  • Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential
  • Has interest in growing business development skills

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • 8-11 years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects preferred
  • PE licensure in NC or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports
  • Understanding of North Carolina market
  • Experience with GIS Systems is a plus - GIS is one of the tools we use to create better projects
  • Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office
