Job description

Hospitality Specialist Seasonal Part-Time | Severance Music Center | The Cleveland Orchestra
At Severance Music Center, guests begin forming impressions long before the orchestra takes the stage and continue forming them long after the final applause. Every interaction contributes to the overall experience.
As a Hospitality Specialist, you are more than a bartender, server, or event staff member. You are a host, an ambassador, and an active participant in the guest experience. Whether serving guests in a premium donor space, welcoming patrons at a bar, supporting a special event, or creating memorable moments throughout the venue, you help shape how guests experience one of the world’s great performing arts institutions.
We believe hospitality professionals perform on a stage of their own. Your bar, lounge, service station, or assigned floor is your stage. The professionalism, warmth, attention to detail, and presence you bring to each interaction become part of the Severance experience itself.
We are seeking hospitality professionals who take pride in creating exceptional guest experiences and who are excited to contribute to a culture where hospitality is viewed as an essential part of the performance.

What You’ll Do:
Hospitality Specialists support a variety of hospitality and food amp; beverage operations throughout Severance Music Center, including premium hospitality and donor events, bartending and beverage service, lounge and concession operations, weddings and special events, guest engagement and floor service, and event setup/service/breakdown.

• Serve food and beverages according to established service standards
• Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and responsibly

• Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready service environments
• Assist with event setup, replenishment, transitions, and breakdown activities
• Support teammates and contribute to a culture of hospitality excellence
• Uphold food safety, responsible alcohol service, and operational standards
Who Thrives Here:
Our most successful Hospitality Specialists are more than bartenders or servers - they are hosts who can bartend. They enjoy creating memorable experiences, engaging with guests, and helping people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
Successful team members demonstrate:

• Professional presence and positive energy • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Attention to detail and situational awareness • Reliability and accountability • Teamwork and collaboration • Curiosity and coachability • Adaptability in fast-paced environments • A genuine passion for hospitality• Must meet Ohio age requirements for alcohol service • Prior customer service, hospitality, retail, food service, or guest-facing experience • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
Preferred Qualifications
• Bartending experience • Food and beverage service experience • Experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, clubs, event venues, or performing arts organizations • Alcohol service and food safety certifications • Point-of-sale experience
Why Join Our Team?
  • Be part of the guest experience at one of the world’s most celebrated orchestras
  • Work in a unique hospitality environment that combines performing arts and premium guest service
  • Flexible seasonal scheduling
  • Opportunities for training, cross-training, and professional development
  • Access to premium events, donor hospitality experiences, and specialized assignments
  • Potential pathways to trainer, leadership, and supervisory opportunities as the Hospitality program continues to grow
  • Hourly wage of $16 plus tips
Every event. Every guest. Every interaction.

Join us in helping create memorable experiences that connect guests to the music, the venue, and The Cleveland Orchestra.
