Job Title: Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist

Experience: Two (2) years

License: Technician License (New York)

Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), AART

Must-Have: Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience

Description: The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist must have experience in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience. This position requires working four 10-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with on-call duties of 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends per month. The ideal candidate will have interventional radiology experience, although training may be provided for RTs coming from other modalities. The primary duties include selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing high-quality radiologic images. Collaboration with department members to resolve issues is essential. Demonstrating flexibility, compassion, respect, and accountability when interacting with patients is necessary. Instructing and preparing patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations is a key responsibility. The technologist will assist Radiologists during procedures and demonstrate proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment. It is important to report any equipment malfunctions to management. All procedures must be completed in a timely manner, utilizing any downtime to assist colleagues with clerical duties, stocking, or transportation. Maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only is required. Competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups is necessary. The technologist must demonstrate competency in using hospital information systems, Radiology Information Systems, and PACS. Participation in performance improvement activities within the facility is encouraged. Confidentiality must be maintained using personal passwords for all patient care modules. Good phone etiquette is essential when answering technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel.
