Director of Quality & Risk Management (DQM)

Details about the DQM Role:

We are seeking the right candidate as Director of Quality & Risk Management (DQM) to join our new leadership team at Landmark Hospital of Athens. As the Director of Quality, you will work with department leaders to ensure our organization complies with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. Oversee the development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize potential risks and ensure the safety of our patients and staff. Additionally, you will work with department leaders and oversee the quality improvement program, including data analysis, performance improvement initiatives.

The Director of Quality Management is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing patient safety initiatives
  • Assuring the success of continuous quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Developing a proactive risk management program, and overseeing an effective infection control program.
  • Appropriate use of quality tools (root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, statistical process control, and other statistical methods) to guide process improvement
  • Help problem-solve and benchmark appropriately to ensure a highly reliable organization

The Quality role assures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and ensures they are continually upheld. The Director will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, administering, evaluating, and continually enhancing policies, procedures, and practices for each functional area. Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications for Director of Quality and Risk Management

  • Bachelors Degree in nursing, or related field .
    • Alternatively, a 2-year Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Quality, Risk, or Infection Control preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality, infection control, or risk management in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Active clinical license (such as RN or RT) - strong preference for Registered Nurse background
  • CIHQ IC or CIHQ-HACP-CMS certification or equivalent (or commitment to obtain within 1 year)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Investigation and root-cause analysis experience a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
