About the job:

The Coordinator Clinical Quality collaborates across all teams in the Clinical Quality Management department on strategic quality and safety priorities to facilitate improved clinical performance and outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.
  • Relationship-based Care:  Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.
  • Provides all regional Patient/Safety Risk Management claims support for legal interrogatories, discovery requests, document production, deposition notifications, write-offs, and related activities.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the Zeroharm/TogetherSafe projects and initiatives in alignment with Clinical Quality leadership and the System Office. Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety culture, including the use of safety behaviors and tools.
  • Provides regional operational and technical support for Clinical Quality Management to facilitate strategic quality and safety priorities and related performance improvement plans.
  • Supports regional quality collaborative committees and peer excellence committees.
  • Coordinates all Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations for all Mount Carmel credentialed providers on an ongoing basis and ensures complete and timely physician review as required by regulatory entities. Performs extraction, analysis, review, and reporting of clinical data, including infection prevention and control and the use of the NHSN data registry.
  • Coordinates Shared Safety Learnings in partnership with Clinical Quality Management colleagues with distribution to all colleagues and members of the medical staff.
  • Analyzes business needs and requirements and provides subject matter expertise and technical guidance to management to determine appropriate actions and projects.
  • Actively participates in initiatives and activities to improve CMS Star ratings, Leapfrog Hospital Safety and payer quality improvement requirements.
  • Provides coordination and support for the Clinical Quality Management leaders and division to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Provides support for all regional regulatory and accreditation survey and related activities.
  • Maintains strong expertise related to Microsoft Office Suite and other applications and software.
  • Maintains detailed risk management/claims and project documentation including requests, document production, meeting minutes, quality and risk management action items and issue lists and resolutions.
  • Works closely with all areas and key stakeholders to ensure complete, efficient, and integrated projects and core responsibilities.
  • Validates data integrity and accuracy of reports, projects and presentations.
  • Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

What we're looking for:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or a related field.  Master's degree preferred
  • Experience:  5 to 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Effective Communication Skills – Maintains good communications and working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Experience with health-care legal interrogatories and document production for legal cases (preferred)
  • Demonstrate ability to plan, facilitate and coordinate all activities of a multi-disciplinary functional area.
  • Ability to independently manage and apply project management processes to manage small and medium scale projects.
  • Ability to make clear, concise, and engaging verbal and written presentations to leadership and groups.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy when managing projects and core responsibilities.
  • Possesses a strong bias for action and the demonstrated ability to take initiative and move projects forward within defined deadlines.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively with limited supervision, and direct multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to develop project and executive status reports and be able to assimilate information and data into meaningful output for planning and presentation purposes.
  • Independent project management experience (or transferrable skills) with ability to work within defined deadlines.
  • Experience with meeting management including meeting organization, readiness and follow-up.
