Job description

Job Summary: The Manager of Quality reporting to APS leadership, is responsible for planning, organizing, evaluating and directing all aspects of the Advanced Physician Services (APS) Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement and other designated department functions of the organization in accordance with, and in support of, the mission, vision and values of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Assures continuous improvement in quality of service and patient satisfaction provided in concert with the WMCHealth mission, vision and values.
  • Collaborate with providers and office staff, plan standardized workflows to meet government quality metrics.
  • Reporting of quality metrics but not limited to: MACRA/MIPS of CMS Quality Payment Program (QPP) on behalf of APS.ย  Develop annual reporting plans and provide quarterly tracking data towards completion and potential revenue impact.
  • Identifying quality and patient safety risks to the practice through monitoring and evaluation of internal reports and industry standards and recommending performance improvement projects.
  • Exert leadership and direction in assisting staff to make decisions and coordinate the overall quality initiatives of the organization.
  • Investigate and evaluate current systems and processes to identify quality issues that may have occurred or that potentially may result utilizing complaint/grievance information along with onsite practice observations.
  • Actively participates in leadership functions and designated committees, task forces and councils.
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams through project meetings to ensure complete transparency and management of progress, decisions made, decisions needed and action items.
  • Mentors and coaches NPS/APS staff members within his/her scope to perform at the highest level
  • Demonstrates an inclusive management style that fosters transformation, confidence and team building.ย 

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Three years of quality assurance and quality improvement responsibilities, administrative or managerial experience in a hospital or health care organization, including insurance companies which must have responsibility for oversight of quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

Education: ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field; a Masterโ€™s Degree in health care, public health or business administration is preferable but not required.

Licenses / Certifications: As above

Other:ย  Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management, physicians, clinicians, support staff and customers. Must possess process improvement expertise.
