The Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer will have primary oversight of the facility-wide patient safety and risk management program. This leadership role will direct others within the facility towards process improvements to support the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. This practitioner serves as the facility Patient Safety Officer and Risk Manager and provides leadership for safety assessments, coordinates the activities of the patient safety function or committee, educates other practitioners on the system-based cause for medical errors, consults with management and staff, and communicates literature-based ideas regarding effective patient safety strategies to others within the organization. This role collaborates with executive leadership, medical staff, quality leaders, risk management, and clinical operations to foster a culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce preventable harm, and drive continuous performance improvement.

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or higher in a patient care related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of combined experience in clinical practice and progressive healthcare leadership experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience in Patient Safety, Quality, Risk Management, or healthcare operations

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: CPPS Certification or eligible to take the exam within one year of employment

REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: NA
