JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assessing patient/family health problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation, and outcomes evaluation of the nursing plan of care and providing direct nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations.

This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including neonate through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The role of the RN requires critical thinking and strong clinical assessment skills, for various age populations, in addition to the ability to respond promptly to changes in patient condition while collaborating with LIPs and ancillary departments to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based care. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) and Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:

  • BSN

  • Pediatric Nursing Experience

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

Possesses current State RN license.

Completes PALS within one year of hire.

Completes PEARs within one year of hire.

Completes pediatric orientation packet within 6 months of hire.

Completes pediatric medication administration exam with at least 80% accuracy.

Completes annual skills validation within designated time frame.

Preferred: Certification in specialty area when eligible.
