What is a hospital medical internship?

A hospital medical internship is a supervised, hands-on training period for medical graduates, usually lasting one year, where they work in a hospital setting. During this time, interns rotate through various medical departments such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. The internship allows new doctors to apply their academic knowledge in real-life clinical situations, develop practical skills, and gain experience in patient care. It is often a required step before obtaining a full medical license and beginning residency training.
