Job description

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Manager of Operations Specialist and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Range: $26 - $28

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm or 8 am - 5 pm

Location: Traveling to both Indianapolis, IN, and Bloomington, IN

What we're looking for

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc., a plus

  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite Experience

  • Sites where coverage is provided require associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS

  • Overnight travel is required, and you will receive an overnight assignment bonus program

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required to perform the essential functions of the job

  • Mileage reimbursement for miles driven from your door to the client location

  • Traveling between multiple locations in the Indianapolis and Bloomington, IN area

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus

  • Forklift Certification is a plus

  • Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, a plus

  • IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

  • Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave, and /or emergency situations occur.

  • Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.

  • Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

  • Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.

  • Utilizes AVANTOR and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Citrix, VBQ, Info Access, Intranet, Ariba, SAP, EZ Source, ESpree, Nexus, Pitney Bowes, UPS, Fedex, ChemSW, Coupa, JD Edwards, Oracle and customer-specific applications.

  • Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.

  • Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and/or other customer-specific applications.

  • Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.

  • Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).

  • Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.

  • Manages a budget related to expense reports.

  • Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives

  • Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
